This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of an environmental control on the quantity of house dust mite allergens and dust amounts in a bedroom and on alleviating nasal symptoms of patients with allergic rhinitis. The environmental
control,
in
this study, was confined to a patient¢¥s bedroom at patient¢¥s house. It included a covering the bedding with a vinyl, regular washing of top bedding cover with hot water, removal of soft furnitures, and wet cleaning of a bedroom.
@ES The results were as follows:
@EN 1. The quantity of house dust mite allergens decreased significantly after the experiment in the experimental group only. The number patients whose bedroom contained less than 2,000 ng/g of the house dust mite allergens, which is known as a
sensitization threshold, was significantly greater in the experimental group than in the control group.
